We have been established since 1953 when Ronald Ware the founder of our piano business completed his apprenticeship at Hickies & Hickies music shop Boscombe, Dorset where his master could also trace his learning lineage back to the 19th century. We have been expertly restoring, repairing and tuning pianos for Radio 4, music colleges, and were former County Council contract school piano tuners and repairers for Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex, Harrow and Bucks. Our experience and expertise is second to none. We sell only Pianos; your piano purchase is special to us and would love to continue the after care for years to come! Stunning Welmar upright with hardly any use, made c1993 in Mahogany open grain matt finish. This piano is at A440 concert pitch and is stable in its tuning. We have completed our multi point check and the regulation is perfect. The tone is warm and full with that typical British delicate tone and touch. The case is perfect and so is the structure of the piano as a whole. This piano is like a new piano even with its 27 years age which is no age for a piano.
Welmar pianos were made by Welpdale Maxwell & Codd who were British manufacturers who also imported the excellent and expensive Bluthner pianos. Welmar went out of production around 2003 and at the time of this pianos manufacture Bluthner we?re having allot of input into the making of Welmar and many of Bluthner?s characteristics are in this piano. The British piano manufacturing came to an end even with the help of such great piano companies help.
The Langer action in this Welmar was made by Herrburger Brooks who also made actions for other beautiful British pianos such as Knight and Eavestaff and even Bechstein at one time.
The pedigree of Welmar pianos is well known and they were a favourite of pianists and students alike.
